absolutely brilliant book. the first line is ‘it’s so hard to talk when you want to kill yourself’, and yet the reviews are right; it’s a book about depression that isn’t depressing. it’s about a boy who gets into a selective high school and can’t deal with it. for obvious reasons, this plot line was what drew me to buy the book in the first place, but it’s written in such an understanding way and still manages to be entertaining even when it’s on about neurotransmitters and SSRIs, which i feel quite intelligent for knowing all about because of psychology. anyway, it’s a really good book and i’m enjoying it and would definitely recommend it. i might stay up all night reading it so i can watch the film tomorrow, ahah.
Aldrin, KC swears it’s the shit, too, so I’ll make sure to read it real soon.
