Politicalities | A Poem

Pendulum:
Swinging but without
Precision;
Motion, swift as high wind—
I am dazed and yet
Unperturbed; thus the words
Escaping took will
To muster, as well as
A few stars.

I pray you do not flicker
But if in your state
Decide to, be certain
I will reflect the minute
Notch
That pushed you
Away, against, afar—
And shadow it with
Stain: a color seeping
From the nerves to the sinews.

I pray you do not falter,
But if in your state
Decide to, then know
I am not to chase shadows,
For they are empty,
And do not care to be
Touched by either skin
Or spirit.

I pray you do not fray,
But if in your state
Decide to, then you must
Know that salience recognizes
Its absence in another half,
And that one must
Understand how this undoes
The sweeping knots ignited
In the beginning of it
All—
That when one sees what
Is in his hands,
He must also see
When it is out of them.
